We have some exciting news to share... Two Bostons has officially been named one of PETS+ Magazine's 2026 America's Coolest Pet Stores!
Each year, PETS+ Magazine recognizes just a handful of independent pet businesses across the country that are raising the bar in customer experience, innovation, community involvement, and retail excellence. This year, Two Bostons was selected as one of only nine independent pet retailers nationwide to receive the honor.
For us, this award isn't simply about having colorful stores or fun events. It's recognition of the experience we've worked to build for more than 20 years.
When Andy and AdreAnne Tesene opened the first Two Bostons in Downtown Naperville in 2005, they had one goal: help pet parents make confident decisions for the pets they love. That mission continues to guide everything we do today, from carefully selecting every product on our shelves to hosting educational events, supporting local rescues, and creating memorable experiences for pets and their families.
The judging panel recognized many of the things that make Two Bostons unique, including our welcoming store design, consistent branding, educational website, engaging social media, community events, and customer-first service.
One judge described Two Bostons as "a well-run machine," praising our cohesive marketing across email, social media, Text Club, community events, and our Petfluencer Program. They also highlighted the personal touches that set us apart, including Team Members who call or text customers after trying a new product to check on their pet's progress.
Other judges applauded our investment in Team Member training and recognition, creative in-store experiences, private shopping appointments for reactive dogs, strong digital presence, and commitment to creating stores that feel welcoming, colorful, and easy to shop.
While we're incredibly honored by this recognition, the real credit belongs to our Team. Their knowledge, compassion, creativity, and genuine love for pets are what customers experience every day, and they're the reason this award is possible.
To our customers, thank you for trusting us with your pets, attending our events, supporting our local rescue initiatives, and allowing us to be part of your pet parenting journey. We truly wouldn't be here without you.
